OOC name; Cairanesi -bows.- (Wrote at 1 AM in the morning, forgive me if any of it is sloppy.)
CHARACTER;;
Full Name; Dante Di Cairanesi
Nicknames: "The Shepard's Wolf" or, more disdainfully, "Human's Doormat."
Age: (Unknown, but appears to be sixteen.)
Year: Sophomore [Transfer Student.]
APPEARANCE:
Picture:
Build: Dante tends to break off from the usual vampire stereotype of being tall, pale, and wiry. He is indeed tall, but he is far from pale and tends to run more toward the broad, muscular build, though he is definitely no body-builder. He has light brown eyes which typically shine with brightness, although at times, one can see a sharp intellect and an incredibly vicious side within them, and staring into those remorseless pits can give one quite an understanding of why he is referred to as a "wolf". One might, on an exceptional, be able to see the deep loneliness that resides within these eyes; but Dante has mastered the art of putting up masks around himself, so seeing what he truly feels is quite difficult.
Clothing: He is typically clad in the usual uniform of the Night Class, but he has a few additions which have been allowed to him due to his exceptionally high rank within the vampire community. His behavior would be scorned if he were not of the pureblood rank, for he wears a black and steel cross with extreme devotion, as well as a small onyx and ivory pendant of a wolf. Why he wears both is a mystery to most within the Pureblood community; Vampires are hardly, if ever, a religious sort. This gave him his name as the "Shepard's Wolf", for he seems to be primarily concerned with protecting others, even if that requires the wolf to be unleashed.
Facial Features; He does not have any truly remarkable facial features, although he may or may not be seen experimenting with tatoos as time progresses.
Tattoos; N/A
Scars; He has a long, thin scar across his chest to upper right arm. This was gained when he was confronting a group of Level E vampires in his native homeland of Italy. One of them managed to scratch him whilst he was distracted dealing with a few others. He will not say what occured after that, but as the level E's are no longer on the planet and Dante is still standing, one can only assume that he was victorious.
Flaws; He has no glaring flaws, but he is not the most handsome of vampires, if that is a flaw in itself. He is good-looking, and draws a few glances from the girls of the Day Class, but he is often overshadowed by the other vampires when it comes to getting Valentine's Day gifts.
Piercings; He disdains piercings with a great intensity and seems to have little regard for those who wear more then the appropriate earring or two. He finds it irritating in the extreme to the point where he will either physically rip the offending piercing off,dismiss himself, or dismiss those who have it from his sight. This may or may not be because he regards those who would pierce themselves in other areas or the tongue are extremely vain or extremely foolish, and he wishes to have nothing to do with either of those parties.
PERSONALITY;;
Personality; Dante tends to be quiet and reserved in the presence of his betters and those whom he does not know, but much more relaxed and outgoing amongst his friends. He feels extremely uncomfortable when he is forced to attend a dance, much rather preferring to do some other activity. He is, for a vampire, remarkably shy and sheltered when it comes to romantic matters. He often feels quite lonely, as his pureblood status sets him apart from many of his peers.
However, deep down, there is a chivalrous attitude inherited from his Family. When he has to defend a wayward human or defeat a Level E, he does it with such ferocity that many still have nightmares years later, remembering the deep, burning walls of flame erupting from Dante in a sea of fire. There seems to be an underlying story for such ferocity, but one will have to pry it out of him.
Likes; He tends to like reading, video games, walking, driving, swimming, phones, and many other modern conveniences. He is even seen going to Church: Although it is common knowledge that holy objects have little or no effect on vampires, most disdain going to them because they are primarily composed of vampire hunters. When questioned as to why he goes, he simply responds with a shrug and a dashing smile.
Dislikes; He dislikes those who openly prey upon others, skatepunks(with an extreme passion, to the point where skaters tended to avoid his town by twenty or so miles after rumors of skateboarders having mysterious accidents and being found naked in the middle of the street the next morning, unconscious, with their board smashed and splintered into thousand of tiny fragments, l"Death Metal", rap, imbeciles, and arrogant people.
PAST;;
Family; Dante is the only son of the prestigious Cairanesi Family, who are the direct descendants of the last Roman Emperor who was, ironically, a Pureblood whom was forced to flee when it was apparent that early vampire hunters came with Barbarian Hordes. This last Roman Emperor ended up marrying another pureblood, and the family faded from historical records until around the 1600's, when they reappeared as the Cairanesi at the small Italian Hillside town of Cairano. They reigned there for the next three centuries until the last vestiages of Feudal power was destroyed by the new Italian Republic. They have since typically been running several various farming and winemaking operations in the area as well as other parts of Italy.
The family has been seen as growing incredibly eccentric over the years, straying from the norms, such as preferring to have human friends over vampiric ones, attending church ceremonies, and even coming on remarkably close terms with the hunter's association(as close as a vampire can be, at any rate.). They have even taken a solemn vow to never drink the blood of another human again, remaining solely on tablets. Dante finds this particularly hard to abide by, and perhaps it is one of the reasons he searches for some sort spiritual solace for his addiction. They often volunteer to defend humans from level E's and have been known to be fierce activists of pacifism and coexistance with the human race.
In recent years, the family has seen a decline, and now the only "Roman Wolf" left is Dante. His parents transferred him to Cross Academy after a scuffle with a noble vampire saw Dante nailing said vampire to a cross and pushing him off a rather large hill for harming one of his human friends. The noble of course survived, but their reputation in that area was drastically ruined, forcing them to send their son elsewhere, and were overjoyed to find an Academy which supports their views. They subsequently sent their song, Dante, there with great hopes.
History;
(Getting tired, I'll edit this and add more later.)
When asked about his history, Dante simply gives a smile and a wink, and mentions that his life was "nothing special" and that he would much rather hear about the life of the person asking that question then tell stories about his rather dull self.
PRESENT;;
Pets: He has no official "pets", although he is seen to be feeding the fox population around Cross Academy with remarkable fervor and has successfully managed to scare away various hunters and game commisioners with a polite stare and a frozen smile whenever they attempt to hurt his "children."
Siblings; None.
Children: The closest thing he considers to having a child would be the foxes around Cross Academy, and at this point, he typically considers them his only friends as well.
Education; Public School from Kindergarten to Sixth Grade, Private all of the way up until his transfer to Cross. He does exceptionally well in English, Latin, and Biology, but seems to struggle when it comes to math and other sciences. He is a most non-linear thinker.
Job; Student, although he has managed to slip away and become a book clerk in the Town, having paid off various children with the chocolates some of the girls send him to warn him of any Night Class, Prefects, or Day Class students in the area. When he is informed of their presence, He casually walks to the furthest end of the bookstore, behind at least twenty shelves of books, and pretends to be browsing for a new textbook.
Vampire Knight;;
Vampire; Yes
Pureblood/Noble/Common/Half-breed; Pureblood
Powers:
In comparison in power to Kaname Sanpei, He would be barely at the A- mark, a 90.01, whereas Kaname would be the student with the 105%, an "EXCELLENT" stamp, and a personal recommendation to any college he desires. If they came to blows, Dante would be able to hold his own for a while, but in the end Kaname would be wiping his bloody corpse off the floor. Perhaps with training he could become as powerful, or more powerful, but at this point Kaname clearly holds the upper hand.
Like other purebloods, he has the ability to turn others into vampires, as well as their considerable physical strength. He does have the ability to bend light around himself to appear invisible, however this works both ways and he cannot see when he becomes invisible, although he can still hear and sense things.
He also is able to rapidly cast up an energy shield to defend himself against moderate anti-vampiric attacks, such as a single shot of the Bloody Rose, although the strain of throwing up this shield is immense and if he is not able to escape or defeat his opponent quickly, he will be cut down with little or no effort on the behalf of his persuers. He can discern when someone is not telling him the full truth, although the more intelligent the individual, the more difficult it is for him. Note that he can't tell -what- part of the statement rings false, just that something is off.
It is rumored that he has an ability which is rumored to be one of the more unique of the many secret pureblood abilities, a dying out ability within pureblood trends. It is suspected to involve some sort of bending of light and fire into a high-focus lance of energy which can wreak havoc, called a "Chaos Lance.". This is remarked to be a truly spectacular sight, although it is said to take up the vast majority of a vampire's strength; and might even kill the user if one is not sufficiently rested or healed when using it.
Sample:
Dante sighed and prepared himself for the horrible experience of exiting to the Academy's Grounds from the Moon Dorm and attempting to escape the hordes of girls who stared lovingly at his fellow vampires. He pretended to ignore them and walked slightly behind Kaname, deferring the lead to the pureblood of higher ability. Other Purebloods would march in demanding to be made the equal, fight Kaname for the title of Alpha-Male, but Dante was simply not that type. He would learn from Kaname, become more powerful, and perhaps one day match him. Kaname was more then a teacher to him, however; He was an idol. He admired Kaname's views on co-existence with humans, and was often supporting him in debates. Not that is was needed. Kaname clearly ruled the roost within the Moon Dorm.
As he walked out the front entrance, he watched the prefects with gratitude as they stopped the swarms of girls from swarming the Night Class. Zero gave him an ice-cold stare as he stopped for a moment, but much to his surprise, the Pureblood nodded his head slightly in respect for Zero. Oh, he knew Zero's problem, but that was no reason to treat him like dirt...at least until he became a level E. Treating him with the utmost respect was the wisest course of action. Zero seemed taken aback by this apparent deference, snorted, and continued his work.
He watched as Yuuki fawned over Kaname, clearly irritating Zero, who twitched as he heard her talking to Kaname. Interesting, thought Dante That will definitely be -something- I shall have to watch with interest.-. He continued his walk, albiet at a faster pace this time as girls finally started to notice him. He sighed with relief as Kaname appeared to be finished with the female prefect, and happily followed his lead toward the Academy, silently urging Kaname to hurry. Kaname seemed to sense this, turned around, and flashed him a rare smile. "You know, Dante, for one who is so eager to coexist with humans, you seem rather hesitant around them."
"With all due respect sir..I'm not really sure those girls -are- human. Did you see the way they slobbered when they were near us? It was...unsettling.". This was coming from a vampire whom had faced countless level E's and even a couple of overzealous, crazed vampire hunters who attempted to kill him despite the fact he was not on the Association's list; rather in their favor at the moment. But one look at the crowd of fangirls reduced this proud, noble wolf to a scared, small puppy. Kaname continued walking, chuckled, shook his head, and walked forward. The other vampires would have also laughed at Dante's silliness, and mocked him for it, but they had seen him on a recent expedition to take care of a Level E, and had been so disturbed by the way he eradicated it that they didn't want to bring anything of that sort upon themselves. Kaname seemed to get away with it, however, and they put it to the fact that he was a pureblood...but in all reality, he got away with it because, as a transfer student, his only other "friends" were Cross Academy's local fox population, not to mention the fact he liked Kaname personally. He was a Vampire you could look up to.
